Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel tags. For brevity, this policy uses "cookies" to refer to all of them.
2. Cookie categories we use
We group cookies into three categories. You can choose which categories to allow at any time using the link, or via the banner shown on your first visit.
Necessary cookies (always on)
Required for the site to function. These cannot be disabled because the site would not work without them.
__session,__clerk_*- authentication session managed by Clerk so signed-in users stay signed in.emp_session- encrypted employee session cookie set after PIN login on/view/<token>pages.emplora-consent(localStorage) - records your cookie preferences so we don't prompt you again on every visit.hs_prompted(localStorage) - set in the employee portal after the one-time "add to home screen" hint is shown, so it isn't repeated on every visit.NEXT_LOCALE- remembers your preferred app language (English / Bulgarian).
Analytics cookies (opt-in)
Help us understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. Off by default. We currently use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with Consent Mode v2.
_ga,_ga_*- Google Analytics cookies. Set only after you accept analytics cookies. Used to distinguish unique visitors and aggregate behaviour across pages.
When you decline analytics cookies, the GA4 script still loads (so Google can verify we've installed the tag) but it operates in "cookieless" mode: no _ga cookies are set and no persistent identifier is generated. The data Google receives is intended to be aggregated and is not used by us to identify you.
Marketing cookies (opt-in)
Used by third-party advertising networks (e.g. Meta Ads, Google Ads) to measure ad campaign performance and show relevant ads on other sites. Off by default.
We are not currently running paid advertising. This category is reserved for future use; toggling it does not currently load any tracker.
3. Your choices
You have three ways to control cookies on Emplora:
- Use our in-app tool to toggle each category individually. Your choice is recorded and applied immediately.
- Configure your browser to refuse cookies or to notify you when cookies are being sent. Note that disabling necessary cookies will prevent the site from working correctly.
- Withdraw consent at any time by reopening the Cookie preferences dialog and clicking "Save preferences" with the categories you want disabled.
Update your cookie preferences now
Re-open the cookie preferences dialog and choose which categories to allow.
4. Third parties that may set cookies
The following third-party services may set cookies on our site, subject to the category you have allowed:
- Clerk (authentication, US/EU) - necessary cookies for keeping you signed in. See Clerk's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 (analytics, United States - EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework certified) - analytics cookies. See Google's privacy policy.
- Vercel (hosting) - no tracking cookies, but server logs your IP address for security and abuse prevention; logs are deleted after 30 days.
- Sentry (error monitoring) - no cookies. Sends anonymised error reports if the site crashes.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we add new cookie categories or change how an existing category is used, we will increment the version of the consent record and re-prompt you to choose your preferences.
